一期一会, ichi-go ichi-e, literally means "one time, one meeting". This Japanese idiom describes the ephemeral nature of every moment in life. In my opinion, the idea, originally from Japanese tea ceremony, permeates Japanese culture.

In the context of teaching, I interpret this idiom as "every moment is unique even if you are with the same people (students) in the same place (classroom)". I teach Japanese with this concept in mind and let my students interpret this concept in their own way through my teaching and cultural events.

Mascot Character
Project
「ゆるキャラプロジェクト」
(2023 Summer Japanese Level 2)

Please contact me for my character's profile/bio/outline/story (if you like 😄), and more detailed instructions for each step.

My character represents the Saitama prefecture, my hometown, which is famous for green onion and big kite 🔥. I thought mine was the best story but my students created better stories than mine (Hokkaido, Fukushima, Saitama, Ishikawa, Shizuoka, Gifu, Hyogo, Yamaguchi, Kochi, Fukuoka, and Okinawa)...

"This project took a lot of time but it was fun and quite rewarding to see the end product."
